Gateway Village Pump Station & Water Storage Tank
|
The original Gateway Village Pump Station and Storage Tank Project was to provide potable and fire water service to the US-40 Gateway Project Development. FEI prepared the original design in 2008; however, near completion of the design the project was placed on hold. In the spring of 2014 the project reemerged and FEI was brought back on board to provide final design engineering, bid assistance, and construction office and field engineering services.
The pump station design was based on a prefabricated potable water pump station supplied by Pipestone Equipment and manufactured by Watertronics, Inc. It consists of variable speed centrifugal pumps including: two domestic service pumps, each with rated capacity of 75 gpm; and one fire service pump, with a rated capacity of 2,050 gpm. The water storage tank will be fed from the City of Golden's distribution system. Key FEI team members on this project include Bob Frachetti, PE, Principal-in-Charge and Nathan Martinson, PE, Project Manager/Senior Engineer. |
Bayfield Water Treatment Facility Expansion
|
The Town of Bayfield and La Plata Archuleta Water District hired FEI Engineers and Integrated Water Services to expand the existing water treatment plant to serve the Town and surrounding areas. The project included demolishing and upgrading the intake facilities, modifying the existing building, constructing a new treatment plant, and keeping the existing plant in operation during construction.
The 1 MGD Drinking Water Facility was completed using a design-bid-build approach. The project included a below grade 500,000 gallon water-tight clearwell, a new water intake structure, expansion of the existing raw water reservoir, backwash pumps, process pumps including 250 HP high-service pumps, piping, valves, chemical feed systems, electrical instrumentation and controls, etc. Key FEI team members included Patrick O'Brien, PE, PMP, Principal-in-Charge, Mark Dahm, PE, Senior Project Manager, and Steve Omer, PE, Project Engineer. |
